GoodGovPH, Inc. and the Provincial Government of Laguna awarded 43 youth groups with the first Seal of Good Youth Governance (SGYG) during the awarding ceremony held last September 24, 2021.
Civil society leaders asserted that, regardless of whether their candidates won or not, Filipinos must continue to do their part in society by holding leaders accountable and exploring different ways to push for good governance.
“Ngayon naman, pagkatapos ng halalan, at nasa demokrasya tayo, magbabago na yung gampanin natin. Lahat ng inelect natin, whether sinuportahan natin sila o hindi, responsibilidad natin to hold them accountable,” Dexter Yang, founder and executive director of GoodGovPH said.
GoodGovPH's Simulan Natin 2022, a youth-led and non-partisan campaign aiming to enhance youth political participation, has been recently featured on CNN Philippines.
"Voter engagement is a stepping stone towards active political engagement. Voting is not the end all be all, but it is the start," Simulan Natin 2022 Co-Convenor Fred Cruz said in the interview.
"On May 14th 2021, Global Philanthropic along with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy at the University of Cambridge hosted Talking Philanthropy 2021.
