In 2018, a group of undergraduate students from the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP-NCPAG) convened over a hundred youth leaders in the Philippine Good Governance Summit. Inspired by the youth delegates' stories and energy, they found purpose in empowering young Filipinos to champion good governance in their respective communities.
They developed this idea with fellow youth leaders and young professionals in public service, private sector, and civil society. On June 12, 2019, GoodGovPH officially launched as a youth-led movement for good governance in the Philippines.
It was registered under the National Youth Commission Youth Organization Registration Program (NYC-YORP) in 2019 and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2020.
Today, GoodGovPH is composed of over a hundred volunteer members nationwide. For their efforts, it has recevied various international and national awards, grants, and recognition. In 2020, GoodGovPH was recognized as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations in the Philippines by the TAYO Awards Foundation.
